Michal, born in 1969 in South Africa, developed a profound appreciation for nature’s visual beauty from a young age. His family’s frequent visits to Southern African Parks cultivated his lifelong connection to the outdoors. This passion grew into a dedicated focus on birdlife, as he began studying, listing, and observing various species across diverse landscapes.

As a guide at South Africa’s Kruger National Park, Michal shared his extensive birdlife knowledge, enriching visitors’ experiences. His commitment to understanding avian habitats has taken him across South Africa and into neighboring countries, including Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Mozambique. Notably, he embarked on a unique voyage with Birdlife South Africa on the MSC Orchestra, reaching the remote Marion Island.

Michal’s love for nature and dedication to bird watching naturally evolved into a journey in wildlife photography, capturing the vibrant essence of birdlife across Southern Africa and beyond.
